They offer developmental checks, immunisations and an opportunity to discuss any other issues arising for children up to the age of five years.
You can book to see the GP or practice nurse for contraception and any other family planning issues.
We offer cervical screening and sexual health management, for which you will need to book an appointment with a doctor or practice nurse.
Minor surgery is available from the doctor. You will need to book an extended appointment with the doctor’s authorisation for a procedure.
These clinics are held annually for ‘at risk’ patients who suffer with chronic disease such as Diabetes, COPD Cancer Asthma Immuno suppressed and CHD patients. Vaccines are usually available in October. You can call to book in to the clinics if you suffer with any chronic disease or you feel that you may be at risk. We recommend that all patients over 65 have an injection annually.
Pneumonia Vaccine is also available to all at risk and over 65 patients – this is only required once every 10 years.
It is also advised that all pregnant women receive the flu injection as soon as they know they are pregnant they can book to have this with the nurse any time of year if they are available.
PRIMARY CARE MANCHESTER Limited
This is an extended access service available to patients to accommodate GP services access when the surgery is closed or unable to provide a suitable appointment.
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
