Our flu clinics are held annually for ‘at risk’ patients who suffer with chronic diseases, such as diabetes, COPD, cancer, asthma, CHD patients and those who suffer from immuno suppression; vaccines are usually available in October.
You can call to book in to the clinics if you suffer with any chronic disease or you feel that you may be at risk. We recommend that all patients over 65 have an injection annually.
It is also advised that all pregnant women receive the flu injection. As soon as you know you are pregnant, you can book to have this with the nurse at any time of year if they are available.
A pneumonia vaccine is also available to all at risk and over 65 patients. This is only required once every 10 years.
Eligibility criteria
Patients between the ages of 18-64 are eligible for a flu vaccine if they have any underlying conditions such as diabetes, asthma, copd etc. and for registered carers. Nasal flu sprays are available for children aged 2-4 with the nurse.
